Hope is feeling of expectation and desire for something you want, or hope to want. Hope comes from inside you, the willing es to dig deep and fight for what you believe in.  Hope can be threaten by others telling you that you cant do something or you will never be something. Helping my family and providing for them in the future, also being able to see my parents not have to worry anymore. That's what gives me hope everyday. To also prove everybody who ever dough ted me wrong and show them what I am capable of doing with my life. I love this quote "To be without hope is like being without goals, what are you working towards?" Catherine Pulsifer . It shows how if you dont have hope then what are you living for? You need hope to strive for something or to work for something. Another great quote is "Hope never abandons you, you abandon it". This shows how theirs will always be hope in life, but you just have to believe in it to have it.

Blog Post #4

I value social justice because I want everyone to experience the opportunities that will best help them fulfill their goals and dreams. No one should be allowed to do something because of who they are in terms of race, sexual orientation, gender, or otherwise and they should not be denied access to support. kids are fat and getting fatter. Recent numbers show that 20% of American children are obese. Not chubby but obese Video games, TV, the internet and fast food are partly to blame. Kids are spending more time sitting in front of a TV/computer screen than running around outside. This lifestyle has tuned into a everyday hobbies.

Blog Post #3

In the Ted Talk "How to buy Happiness" by Michael Norton, he wrote this article on people who win the lottery, and how there life is after that. Now you would think that it would be great because you just won millions of dollars, but actually their life gets ruined. Norton states "So what happens when people win the lottery is, number one, they spend all the money and go into debt, and number two, all of their friends and everyone they've ever met find them and bug them for money. And it ruins their social relationships, in fact. So they have more debt and less friendships than they had before they won the lottery." This shows how everybody thins money can buy people happiness but in reality it can actually make you socialize less and make you less happier before you won the lottery. Norton did another experiment in Vancouver college and say "By 5:00 pm today, spend this money on somebody else." Also inside the envelope was money. And we manipulated how much money we gave them. So some people got this slip of paper and five dollars. Some people got this slip of paper and 20 dollars. We let them go about their day. They did whatever they wanted to do. We found out that they did in fact spend it in the way that we asked them to. We called them up at night and asked them, "What'd you spend it on, and how happy do you feel now?" What did they spend it on? Well these are college undergrads, so a lot of what they spent it on for themselves were things like earrings and makeup. One woman said she bought a stuffed animal for her niece. People gave money to homeless people. Huge effect here of Starbucks." This shows how sometimes spending money on other people can make you more happier the wasting money on stupid stuff on your self

In Dan Gilbert's ted talk "The Surprise Science of Happiness", he talks about different test on how people are after winning something or choosing something. For example, he says "Here are to different future you can pick from, one wining the lottery and the one is becoming a paraplegics." Now probably everybody would be happier in the future with wining the lottery, but actually 50% of the people are more happier being a paraplegics then wining the lottery. This shows how just because you think something is gonna make you happier does not always come out that way. He also states  "The most powerful Democrat in the country lost everything. He lost his money, he lost his power. What does he have to say all these years later? "I am so much better off physically, financially, mentally and in almost every other way." This shows how you dont need money, power, and fame to be happy, you just need to love yourself and just live your life the way you want to, and they you will become happier then you ever were.

Baseball and being around people who are happy is one of the things that make me happy. Happiness to me is being able to live your life the way you want tot live it. Happiness is one of the biggest things in life because without happiness you cant life a good life. There is no secret, you just got to do want you want to do in your life.

On Limits to Freedom & On Barriers to Presence

Reflection 1
Some of the main barriers to freedom are your mind, age, and people you surround yourself with. For example your mind can keep you from reaching your goals, but it can also help you achieve those goals. Age is a big barrier to your freedom because there is certain things that you are not able to do because of your age. The people you surround yourself with is a big part to your freedom. If you hang out with people who aren't going in the right direction they can be that barrier that causes you not to get your freedom.
                                                             Reflection 2
The dangers of not being present or being aware in each moment is very high. For example if you are not being aware or present when you are driving their is a high chance of you getting in a serious accident. Some of the common barriers are your mind, age, school, authorities, and the people you surround yourself with.  Take a break from all the electronics every week and you will be able to focus better and get more work done
